Run Squamish: Shannon Basin Loop
What Shannon Basin Loop is About
The Sea to Sky Gondola opened its doors in 2014 and with it opened up a whole new network of great terrain for runners to explore. Set in the alpine above Squamish, the Shannon Basin Loop is a great race for runners achieving their first 10km. Racers are treated to a stunning 10min vertical ride on the Sea to Sky Gondola just to get to the start line of the race. Racers then begin a great loop course featuring long descents, a challenging climb and an enjoyable flat section before returning to the Summit Lodge. This friendly 10km loop course is a great way to explore a new Squamish trail before relaxing and enjoying post race snacks and beverages while taking in the views of Howe Sound and celebrating with friends and family on the lodge’s patio.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at the annual Shannon Basin Loop Trail Run in Squamish, BC – the outdoor capital of Canada.
When: June 13th, 2015
Where: On top of the new Sea to Sky Gondola
Distances: 10km trail run

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to run on top of the Sea to Sky Gondola. A great 10km loop awaits with a little bit of everything. A gentle descent down the Shannon Basin will then lead you to a steady uphill, guaranteed to challenge the legs and the lungs. End with a few flat kilometres back to the lodge as you cross over the Shannon Basin river!
No aid station provided on this course. Be prepared to carry your own fuel as needed. However, a great finish line table will await you at the finish!
We are looking for approximately 25 volunteers to help make this event a success!
